Intro Songwriter Stories is a fascinating new music discovery podcast, featuring interviews with talented pop songwriters and exciting content about the craft and process of songwriting.
Dave’s first guest was British songwriter and producer Tony Macaulay, who co-wrote “Build Me Up Buttercup,” and wrote and produced the hit “(Last Night) I Didn’t Get to Sleep At All.” His songs have been recorded by a huge roster of top-line artists, such as Elvis Presley, The Hollies, Glen Campbell and Andy Williams.
On our home page, you can navigate “The Studio” by clicking buttons and knobs on an audio console. Each episode is represented by links to three components: 1) an audio podcast, 2) a Writers Room, where you can listen to individual songs and read accomanying commentary, and 3) a link to the guest artist’s website. Occasional episodes, under his course title “Songwriting CSI,” explore one or more pop songs in depth, in a uniquely absorbing presentation that combines musical examples with insightful explanation. “Extremely enjoyable!” wrote one iTunes reviewer. “Suitable for serious musicians and casual listeners. This podcast has quickly become a favorite for me and it should be for you too!" If you love good music and you’re intrigued about hearing how creativity is channeled into song, you’re the perfect listener for Songwriter Stories.
